The Sharjah Airport International Free Zone, or SAIF-Zone, as well as the airport itself, has played a large role in helping the economy of Sharjah reach new heights. The SAIF- Zone is the single, fastest growing Free Zone in the entire region and the International Airport has built its own enviable reputation as being one of the leading cargo hubs of the area.

The UAE is in close proximity to all of the major airports and seaports of the East Coast (Arabian Gulf) and is just 120 kms from the Indian Ocean on the West Coast. This gives the region a crucial strategic advantage, particularly for import, export, and industrial establishments.

Adjacent to the premier airport in the Middle East as well as North Africa in respects to cargo operations, it is the Middle East’s cargo hub for Lufthansa as well. The ACI (Airport International Counsel) has ranked it among the best (29th) in the world for cargo operations.
